Hurry... Hurry Haaaaard!
Last night we took some of the older youth curling. Talk about being out of our elements. We had a lot of fun despite being complete noobs. It wouldn't have been to embarrassing had it not technically been ladies night at the curling rink. One of the teams even had matching jackets. Definitely not an opportunity to impress the ladies. Especially when you nearly wipe out twice. ;)
We had our sheet of ice for 2 hours, and ended up playing 4 ends in that time. It took us all a while you get used to throwing the stones without too much juice so they'd actually end up stopping in the house instead of passing straight through. Somehow in the third end I was able to get two of my stones into the house and they stayed for the whole end. Because of that we ended up winning the game 2-1. That definitely felt good.
I'll be in Toronto next week for our last batch of Cognos training. It'll be nice to get away from Sudbury for another week and see the Barbers again.
Matthew.
