Visiting With A Two Year Old

My cousin, his wife and daughter came to visit my parents and me tonight. Chris and Kim are both from Sudbury, but they've been moving around the States a lot because of Chris' work. They've lived in Tennessee and Illinois and as of January they are living in Michigan. But once again Chris' job is changing so they are going to have to move again, which would be fine but Kim is due to have a baby in October so it's another complication. Chris was always my big cousin. Our extended family on my dad's side used to spend summers up at the cottage and Chris would look out for me, his "bud", the smallest one. He's 36 now.

His daughter Sydney is absolutely adorable and he's definitely a proud father. She's two years old. After about the first five minutes she stopped being shy and started playing with all of my mom's little stuffed animals. She loves all animals but she especially likes lady bugs, frogs, and butterflies. And well it just so happens that my mom likes lady bugs too so Sydney was walking around the house pointing at lady bugs. She wanted to play our piano so I brought her over and sat her on the bench and watched over her as she played. She had a lot of fun making music. While my parents gave the tour of our new house I had brought Sydney up the stairs and help her hand, so later when she wanted to go up or down the stairs she only wanted to hold my hand - "Maffew". The cutest thing was when she was in my parents room during the tour, she squatted down, got a very intense look on her face and then announced to us all, "I'm pooping". We couldn't help but laugh. Then she got up and raised her arms in celebration and said again, "I'm pooping!" Chris went and changed her and we had a snack. She really likes cheese. When the visit was over she came and gave us hugs and kisses and as they left in their car she waved and said goodbye. One of the last things I heard was "Bye Maffew". Talk about precious. We took some pictures so I'll post them when they get developed.

Man I can hardly wait to have kids and have a daughter that's even cuter than Sydney. :D

Matthew.
