A Pleasant Party
Well it's about 6pm and we just got home from the party. And as is almost always the case I was worried for nothing. Sure there were some awkward moments when I didn't have anyone to talk to but for the most part I was able to catch up with aunts, uncles, cousins and old family friends. So I would have to say I actually enjoyed myself. It's always nice seeing my aunts and uncles. It's always nice getting a hug from them because I can feel the genuineness of their love for me. I even got to hold and play with my 7 month old cousin for the first time. She was born on my birthday and is so adorable. She spent most of the time staring at my goatee and running her tiny hands through it. I can honestly say that nothing will make me happier or prouder than to hold my first newborn child.
It took a while to clean up afterwards but it's all done. There's supposed to be some kind of get together at Christi-Ann and Dwight's a little later. I'm feeling pretty tired so I'm hoping it won't last too late. Toby and I are supposed to play at Cecil Facer (the youth detention center) tomorrow morning. I gotta remember to ask if I can borrow the truck for that. Anywho, I hope you are all enjoying your weekend as well.
Whoa... we got our picture developed already! Craziness!! Oh and I'd like to thank Blogger for creating a new text editor that's crashed my browser twice.
So it's now 10pm and I'm eating a grape popsicle after getting home from Dwight and Christi-Ann's. Originally I had heard it was supposed to be a party for their friends so I was surprised to hear my parents and my relatives were going. There were quite a few people there that weren't at the church so I generally stuck with my relatives. So when my sister asked if I would pick up her friend Tara (who I hadn't met) I jumped at the opportunity to get away from the crowd. If Tara was a Christian I probably would have asked for her number before I left. Wow did we ever hit it off. We spent the evening talking about movies, and video games (she's actually a gamer!!) and the like. Our tastes are quite similar. She did the whole "Awwww... you're leaving me?" thing when I said I had to go and man did I want to stay. Talk about frustrating when I wish so much I had a girlfriend.
Matthew.
