Parents
Living at home with my parents definitely gets on my nerves. They try and make jokes and tease me but they usually just grate at me and make me annoyed with them. Aside from the jokes I've heard a million times they always make little quips. It's not the words but the way they say them. For instance when I'm leaving for work in the morning they'll say things like, "Oh. You're leaving?", "Where are you going?", or "You're not going to work are you?" Getting up at 6:30 every morning and going into work is one of my least favorite things to do right now and their little jokes don't help my mood. They also like to bug me about what time I get up on Saturdays. Either I get up too late (11am) or too early (8am). I can't win. Them: "Why are you up so early?" - me in my head: "Cause I can't bloody get back to sleep." Them: "Oh! You're up!" - me in my head: "Give me a break, it's the one day of the week I can sleep in."
The more I think about it the more I think living with my parents is what's driving me crazy. Let me tell you, after living on my own in Ottawa for two years, moving back in with my parents was brutal. It's what brought an emotional breakdown and made me realize I needed help with my depression. I can hardly wait until I can afford my own place. No more little critiques about my life style. No more having to be quieter than a mouse after 11pm. Bah.... enough complaining. I should start looking into the logistics of moving out. Mostly logistics of the money kind.
Matthew.
