Happy August

Where did the summer go? It's practically over and we here in Sudbury are still waiting for more than a few days of nice summer weather. I mean I'm so not a fan of the heat but still who doesn't enjoy summer right? It's going to be really strange not going back to school in September, but probably not so much so since I've been done since December. Oh I'm not sure if I mentioned this but I got my contract with the school board extended by at least six months. Hopefully by then I can have my debts paid off and maybe possibly be living on my own.

So I was taking the shower the other night, yeah I take my showers at night, and had to wash my grungy feet cause I've been wearing my sandals a lot. And well it just made me think about Jesus and washing other people's feet. Most people cringe at the idea of touching other people's feet, but could you imagine washing the feet that Jesus washed? I mean those feet were probably caked with sand and sweat. And the smell? Yikes! Some of them probably had warts. Think of the calluses those feet would have. Oh and don't forget the camel dung between toes 3 and 4 of their left foot. I've heard of foot washing parties and I'm guessing those people's feet are pretty clean to begin with. You want real servant-hood? Try washing the feet of a guy who's been wearing sandals in the desert all day. Oh and once you're done his, you can start on the other eleven pairs of dirty, smelly feet. So who wants to volunteer for that job? *gulp*

Matthew.
