Pictionary, Mortgages, and Interviews
I had a pretty good weekend. Bowling with the youth was fun. They got a kick out of how low my score was. I've never been that great and I tend to try and put spin on the ball but usually end up putting too much on it. That means plenty of gutter balls. Mind you twice the ball jumped back out of the gutter and took out three pins. That was pretty funny. I'm definitely enjoying hanging out with those kids.
Saturday was pretty relaxing. Steve and I had planned on going to see Serenity. Well actually I was planning on dragging him to go with me. ;) But James and Amanda invited us both over for supper. We don't see James much because of his two part time jobs so it would have been silly to say no because of a movie. Amanda made some bread maker bread, chicken lasagna, and pumpkin pie. Very yummy. I brought over the first disc of Firefly to gave them a taste of what the movie Serenity will be like. They enjoyed the episodes so I was happy.
Sunday was typical with church in the morning and leading the music at night. My mom apparently even listened to the service on the radio just to hear me. Silly lady. After the service the college and career's group played some Pictionary. Not just any Pictionary because we made up the words the opposing team would have to draw and guess. It ended up being guys vs. girls which added an edge to the game. At first it looked like we'd walk away with an easy win, but the last few drawings had us stumped so it ended up in a tie.
Last night, Tuesday, my mom and I went over to Christi-Ann's to visit. It had been well over a week since I last saw Brady. I definitely enjoy having him asleep in my arms, but I can hardly wait until he can interact with us more when we play with him. I can hardly wait to hear him giggle.
Tomorrow night I'm meeting with a mortgage specialist to discuss my options when it comes to buying a house. It's my first official action in my hunt for a house. Sure I've been looking at adds and such, but now I'm involving a "professional". Hopefully this will be the catalyst to get the ball rolling. Of course I'm a little concerned about the meeting because I really don't know much about this whole house buying/owning thing. It should be an eye opener. And now to end off my week I finally have a job interview on Friday at 1pm for the programmer's position here. Too bad this hadn't happened sooner since a full-time job would look great on a mortgage application.
I've had the sniffles for most of the day so I hope I'm not getting a cold. Last thing I want is to be sick this weekend for Thanksgiving. :(
Matthew.
