A Little Tight Around The Collar

Just so everyone knows, my new job isn't really anything new. I'm still working for the school board as a Computer Programmer. I didn't get a raise and the projects I'm working on are still the same. But now that I'm a permanent employee and part of the union, I receive benefits, life insurance, a pension plan, and all that jazz. Well those things aren't free. I'll have deductions on every paycheck for them. I also have to wear a tie now which I'm not terribly fond of. I won't be able to get away with pants and a collared shirt any more. Spending $300 on clothes for work was not my idea of a good time on Saturday morning. Such are the evils of being grown up I guess.

I received a nice surprise logging into World of Warcraft the other night. All the towns have been decked out in Halloween decorations. Not only that but you can go trick or treating. I got turned into a little leper gnome for an hour. There are even special Halloween quests you can go on to earn other "costumes" for your character. I've seen people wearing masks, others have been skeletons, ghosts, or even ended cross-dressed. In all it's something pretty minor but it's a lot of fun and adds depth to the game.

Matthew.
