A Great Weekend in Florida
I've been having a really really nice time here with Bryan and Carol. I know in some ways they feel like we haven't done a whole lot of stuff while I've been here, but I've enjoyed just relaxing with them and chatting about whatever comes up. It's been really nice to get so close to them in so short a time. They are both at work today so I've had some time to just relax on my own and enjoy a little TV while building up my strength for my drive tomorrow.
Church yesterday was great. We went to the 10:15 service and it was packed. The music was really well done and I only knew one or two of the songs they did. The pastor is a great speaker and really makes you feel like he's talking to you despite there being 4000 others there in the room with you. A few dozen went up for the altar call after the serivce which was a great sight to see. The church proptery is huge. They took over an old college campus and have it filled with the sanctuary, book store, private elementary and high school, and even a restaurant now. They have a whole building just for youth with a gym and their own santuary that looks nothing like one. It was all very impressive to see. Afterwards we went out to lunch out on the warf and then came back home and vegged for the rest of the day.
In an hour or two I'll be picking up my rental car and then buying some sun glasses. I hope to leave by 7am tomorrow which should mean pulling into Jeremy and Alaina's place by 9pm. Please remember to pray for me on this first leg of my drive.
Matthew.
