First Post of 2005
Things were kind of blah over the holiday season for me so I never felt like blogging about it. I don't even want to post about it now, but if I don't I'll just keep neglecting my blog. Christmas was pretty boring for the most part. I ended up spending lots of my two weeks at home in my room alone - not what I had hoped for.
I did see the majority of my relatives which was really really nice. The highlight of the family visits was seeing Sydney again and her new little brother Hudson. Hudson is absolutely huge at 2.5 months old. He and Sydney wear the same sized diapers... and Sydney is 2.5 years old! Last time they weighed him, Hudson was 17 pounds. He definitely gets heavy quickly when you hold him, but he's still fun to hold. I was trying to pay attention to Sydney too, but I don't think she remembered me from her last visit. I always feel bad for children with a new brother or sister since they are no longer the center of their parents' universe.
But I didn't get to spend a lot of time with friends, especially when I really wanted to. I only saw one friend on my Birthday and that was because I picked her up at the bus station at 6:30 am. She took me out for breakfast after - mmmm pancakes. Scott came over for a little bit on New Years Eve, but I ended up watching a movie with my parents, who then went to bed at their regular time of 11 pm. I just don't have many friends that live in Sudbury which can be tough at times.
So here we are in 2005. I'm still single, still living with my parents, and still in a job that I don't enjoy. I honestly don't know what I'd do if I'm still in this same situation a year from now.
Anyways...
Yesterday I went to a Lord Of The Rings marathon. It took us 11.5 hrs to get through all three extended editions of the movies. Watching the movies on a 60" widescreen TV with surround sound is something to behold. I think there were nine of us when we hit play on Fellowship, but there were just four of us left when Return of The King ended. Definitely not for the faint of heart. I got home at 12:30 this morning so I'm definitely hurting this morning on my first day back at work, but it was worth it. :)
Matthew.
