Winter in Sudbury
Went skating last night and my legs are pretty sore from using muscles I don't usually use. I fell a few times but overall it went well. But man was it frustrating watching almost everyone else skate circles around me as I wobbled round and round the rink. I want to learn how to stop like the pros do but I have to get brave enough to commit to turning my blades 90 degrees to the direction I'm going and lean back. I'm hoping once the outdoor rinks get underway I can go when there's no one else around and just try until I get it. I'm glad I went last night though - I finally got to try those skates I bought like two months ago. Other than one blister on my right big toe that I didn't notice until I got home the skates were quite comfy.
Below is a picture I took from outside my bedroom window two days ago. We've gotten plenty of snow and we've even gotten more since I took the picture. Notice the snow covered road that is well travelled on. Yes indeedy - we drive on roads like that. Just this morning I was having a little fun making the car fish-tail around corners. Winter driving is fun once you get used to it. :D

driving in snow freaks me out. that picture is absurd.
it just occurred to me that you both don't ice skate so well and also live in snow-ridden canada. i never put those two together. you definitely need to keep practicing.
