Guess who's on vacation
Yep that's right ladies and gents. Your favorite Clemster is now on vacation for two weeks. The last two days of work were pretty unproductive for most of us. I mean things got done but everyone just wanted the holiday to come. Friday at lunch we had a Christmas pizza party which included writing our own work-related lyrics to "The Twelve Days Of Christmas" and the singing of a few Christmas songs and one carol. At first it was pretty awkward cause no one really wanted to sing and be heard but a couple of the admins are pretty crazy guys. So after seeing them make fools of themselves anyone looks normal in comparison. Fun times.
Thursday I finished my Christmas shopping. Woo hoo! I'm just glad it's done before I have to deal with the crazy crowds. I detest shopping and the Christmas crowds scare me. I was bad though while doing my shopping - I picked up a few things for myself.
The Return of The King Special Extended Edition DVD is sweet. In the previous two extended DVDs they left the movies pretty much untouched other than adding the extra scenes, but Return of The King actually got restructured. It's practically a whole new film having been re-edited from start to finish. For those of you who thought there were too many endings you'll be happy to know that the ending of the movie is untouched and more endings weren't added. It just takes a lot longer to get there with the movie being over 4 hours now. ;) It's going to take a while to get through the four commentaries but I'll wait a bit since my friend will want to watch it on his parents' 60-inch widescreen TV. I'm drooling right now just thinking about it. The extras are as good as the previous two extended cuts. These extras are kinda sappy though because it deals a lot with the end of the movies. I mean Peter Jackson spent a total of six straight years working on these movies. How can it not be emotional for him and all the others that were apart of this mammoth task? It literally was their life. Craziness.
Well I hope you all have plenty of time to relax during this Christmas. Just don't forget that Jesus is the reason for the season. :D
Matthew.

yessss. enjoy your break.
yeah, i'm basically drooling over the rotk extended version too. i still haven't made it through the whole movie, but i've watched a few of the special features. you listen to all the commentaries? that's incredible. i really loved the commentary on two towers with elijah wood, sean astin, andy serkis, dominic monaghan, billy boyd, you know, the cast. i'm definitely overloaded with christmas entertainment choices. too many new cd's and movies to grab a hold of.
