Life Is Getting Busy

The house hunt continues and I'm going to view my first one Saturday afternoon. Based on the description I've gotten so far it sound like a nice house: 1050 square feet, 3 bedrooms, newly renovated bathroom, hardwood floors, all electricity upgraded, large yard, newer kitchen, detached garage. Their asking price is close to my mortgage limit, but it's a private sale so should be able to talk them down. I'm just not sure how much you can barter for a house? Is $10,000 less a lot to ask? I still have a lot to learn about the real estate biz.

Tomorrow night will be the first practice of my new band. Three of the youth have signed on to help me out Sunday nights. Dylan will be playing drums, Janes will play bass, and Jordan will play piano. Ian will switch from congas to guitar since that's his first love. Jordan and Ian can help out with singing if they wish and we could always add some singers later if needed. I wasn't sure if I wanted to go the youth route since it'll take more of my time, but why not? They wanna help out and I might as well get them while they're young right? ;) Practices should be interesting. They are fun guys so there will be plenty of laughs, but I'm sure it'll be tough keeping them focused at times. I'm not sure where all of their skills levels are at so I'll see about starting them this Sunday night or not.

This Friday at youth I'll be running the show. Eep. Steve is gone to Belize on a missions trip for two weeks. I'm a little nervous about taking the reigns, but since we're doing the Quest video series at least half the night is taken care of. I've decided to turn snack time into a game by creating a scavenger hunt out of it. They'll have to follow a series of Bible-verse clues to some kind of ice cream topping. It'll be fun to set up and I really hope they enjoy it. I won't post any ideas here just in case one of them somehow found my blog. ;)

Matthew.

I dont know how it works in up in Canada but 10k less than asking is no big deal down here. Carol and I offered 24,000 less for the house we were going to buy. We ended up agreeing on 11,000 under asking. We even accepted 9,900 less for our house. Remeber its all about negotiating. Most people will stick a number out there HOPING to get it. But they usually have a minimum price they are willing to take. The worse they can say is no. But usually they come back with a counter offer anyway.
