The Folks Know My Plan

Well I think I dropped a bomb on my parents tonight. Ever since we moved into our new house my dad has been hassling me to unpack these four or five boxes of mine that are sitting in the basement. So I asked him why, if they were in the way or taking up room. He didn't really have much of an answer to that so I haven't bothered to unpack them. I mean they've got three extra couches down there... three! If it's room they need then they can get rid of those. Sheesh. So tonight he was bugging me about the boxes again so I said, "Well I don't see the point of unpacking those boxes since I'll be moving out once my loan is paid off." So he starts going into the logistics of moving and how I'd have to buy my own furniture and all the stuff I already know. Then he brings up the fact that my job isn't permanent and that I should wait to move until I know what's going to happen. Well my job is good until June and I told them, "I don't want to wait to move until June." They pretty much went silent after that and when I was in the kitchen cleaning up after supper I could kinda hear them talking in low voices.

I mean how long did they think I'd end up staying with them? It's bad enough being 25 and still living at home, but 26 will be even worse. I'm sick and tired of having to be quiet after 11pm. I'm sick of not really being able to have friends over because I'll get in my parents' way. I was sick of all this when I was 15. *sigh* The quicker I finish paying off my loan the better. I so want it gone before the new year.

I was originally going to post about the meeting we as the band had yesterday. To keep it short the band is still alive and we've made some plans for the future. Hopefully we can play more at All Nations and get more youth/outreach oriented gigs. One thing we decided was to rely on free-will offerings whenever we need to raise money to cover the costs of performing. Our little way of relying on God which is cool. I'm looking into having a concert on campus sponsored by the IVCF group I used to attend. I'm pretty excited about it. I'll be the first concert we've organized for ourselves. More details as they come. heh heh

Matthew.

  • Unfortunately I had to take out a bank loan because the government gave me squat so I've been paying interest from the day I started racking up the debt about 5 years ago. I finished school in January so it would be pretty sweet to get it paid off in a year.
