On The Road of Life ...

Well it's probably about time I share my big weekend news with you all. I now own a brand new 2006 Jetta TDI. The base model is packed with features so I only opted in for the power sunroof, 16" alloy wheels, and chrome trim. I'd be fine without the trim but it's part of the sunroof package.

I went on Saturday to look at what Volkswagen had on their lot. They had a really nice 2004, but for just $5,000 more I'd have a brand new car. So last night I went in with all my papers and down-payment, signed my life away I don't know how many times... and had to go home without the car because I had no insurance yet.

Today, at the recommendation of my coworkers I shopped around a bit for insurance and found some, with all the same benefits, for $500/year cheaper than my parents insurance company. Talk about a huge difference. It took a lot of phone calls back and forth, but after some stress I've saved a car payment. So tonight the VW guys are going to pick me up and I'll get to drive my new car home. Woo hoo!
