One Month Left In My Contract
So. This is the last day of May, 2005. Another month come and gone. Now there's just one month left in my contract. One month away from a possible change in my life, but I've yet to hear from any of the jobs I applied to. Did I do something wrong with my resume and cover letter? Do I not meet the qualifications? Or am I over-qualified? That would be worse than being under qualified. Is the fact that I'm still working here at the School Board hurting me? Maybe I need to be more specific on my work term here.
Just made myself a cup of hot chocolate with extra powder. Mmmm chocolatey goodness. How come one "rich" package of hot chocolate still tastes like hot water? Twenty-one grams just isn't enough. ;)
I ordered a copy of The Chronicles of Narnia over the weekend. I have yet to read the books. It's a series that I always wanted to read, but they seemed so expensive whenever I found them. And well now that spending money on a good book isn't a problem, I found a pretty inexpensive hard cover version on Amazon. I hope to get through the series before The Lion, the Witch, and The Wardrobe comes out in theaters this Christmas. I don't think that reading it by then should be a problem. I was sitting beside Alysha, (Toby's soon to be wife - the wedding is Sat), when I saw Star Wars 3 for the second time. She let out a squeal of glee when she figured out that the trailer she was watching was for Narnia. I'm pretty sure she'd buy tickets now if she could. The books were obviously a memorable part of her childhood. I'll be sure it's a part of my children's required reading if it is in fact as wonderful as most people say it is.
I also bought a game pad for my computer over the weekend so I could enjoy playing older games. Man Nintendo made a lot of quality games back in the NES, and Super NES days: Super Mario 3 with the raccoon tail and warp whistles, Super Mario World with the cape and Yoshi, the Final Fantasy games, the Legend of Zelda games, the Metriod games. Makes me want to buy a Nintendo GameCube so I can try out the new versions of the games. Retro/nostalgia gaming is so much fun.
Matthew.
